Course Disclosure
Mrs. Parker
Secondary 3 Honors
Course Description:
Students in Secondary Mathematics 3 will pull together and apply the accumulation of learning they have from previous courses. They will expand their repertoire of functions to include polynomial, rational, and radical functions, expand their study of trigonometry to include general triangles, and use functions and geometry to create models and solve contextual problems. Honors students will also use logarithmic and trigonometric functions, build functions from existing functions, extend the domain of trigonometric functions using the unit circle, and prove trigonometric identities.
Classroom Expectations:
It is expected that you will behave and perform as an honor student at all times. The following classroom rules are to serve as a guideline for appropriate behavior:
1. Respect self, others, and property.
2. Be prepared each time you come to class.
3. Work on math during class time.
4. Be honest.

Citizenship:
Your citizenship grades will be determined by your behavior and attitude in class. I support and adhere to the rules outlined by the school’s citizenship and tardy policy. If you come to class after the last bell has rung expect that you will receive a tardy. You are responsible for keeping track of how many tardies you have. A student’s fourth tardy may be made-up by being on time five class periods in a row. Citizenship grades will be determined by the following criteria:
H = No tardies or unexcused absences
G = 1 tardy and no unexcused absences
S = 2 tardies or 1 unexcused absence
N = 3 tardies or 2 unexcused absences
U = 4 tardies or 3 unexcused absences / Cheating or serious misbehavior
